Obama’s speech was powerful for two main reasons. Firstly because of his powerful expression that inspired the audience and secondly because he incorporated so many issues into the speech. When he began an issue such as healthcare he began slowly and only emphasized a few words but later on he would be speaking with a lot more emotion. He did this throughout the speech on most of the issues but as he was finishing he exploded with energy, which also caused the audience scream and chant louder. Everybody was so focused on him because he was trying to appeal to everybody by speaking a little on most topics. By talking about all of the different issues he got the entire audience involved and everybody was happy because they now think he will solve their problems. He did not even exclude the Republican voters in his speech. By talking shortly about working with Romney is gives the impression that he will work to address their issues as well as the issues that matter to the democrats.
Romney’s speech was very different than Obama’s but was also very impressive. He mostly thanked his family, campaign workers, colleagues, and the people who voted for him but he also spoke of how he would continue to work to make America a better country. Romney spoke differently than Obama in that he was not trying to inspire change. He spoke to a more select audience that was directed to more Republicans than the nation and he speech did not make him sound as important as Obama’s did. Romney’s speech was more humble and it made him seem more human and relatable than his other speeches. His speech was a good way for him to end the presidential campaign because it showed a side to him that many people did not see during the race.
