Obama's acceptance speech :
Barack Obama, a man's man, has been re-elected, and is back in office for 4 more years. The acceptance speech that he delivered was inspirational and sincere. I believe that Obama is a very strong speaker, and uses alot of real life examples to connect with people. He thanks all the citizens of the U.S for voting, even if it wasn't for him, but for Romney. He says things such as " what makes America exceptional, are the bonds that hold together the most diverse nation on earth". Obama's speech was very well done. He showed emotion, and in my opinion, had the viewer entranced with the way he talked. The tone of his voice, and the way he used hand gestures was phenomenal.
Romney's concession speech:
Although Romney said that he is happy for Obama, he didn't look like he meant it. His speech was very dry, His voice very monotone, And the way he delivered it wasn't very enthusiastic. I can understand that he wasn't happy, as the elections were very close, and it could've went both ways. I heard that he believed he was going to win so he didn't prepare a concession speech. If this is true, i believe that it was very unsportsmanlike, and i am glad that he didn't get voted in. I for one, would not want someone like him being in control.
I am glad that Obama won but honestly I really don't care for either candidate. The fact that he almost lost to someone like Mitt Romney really shows how people feel let down by his first term. I really only prefer Obama because he is for gay marriage and is a bit more progressive than I think Mitt Romney is but really he still does more stuff I don't agree with like passing the NDAA, and drone strikes. Last I heard more civilians were being killed by drone strikes than terrorists and by a large margin yet really nothing much is probably being done to stop that. There must be a third party candidate that I would agree with more but because the American system is so limited to the democrats and republicans it seems like nobody else gets a voice. Whatever. Glad I live in Canada. =) I thought Romney's concession speech was pretty good. He came off somewhat unhappy but it seemed like a different side to him that wasn't so agressive like we have seen for the past year. I've never seen a someone else's concession speech so I don't have anything to compare it to but I thought it was decent.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Illuminati.
ReplyDeleteMost Don't care for either candidate. We all want the perfect man/woman for a leader of a nation but yet a perfect man/woman has yet to be found. Finding a leader that is perfect for the entire Country is impossible. To live up to the wants of every man woman and child of a country just isn't going to happen in the forseeable future. Humans are far to diverse to agree on something so contraversial unaminoulsy. The best we can hope for is electing the lesser evil of the running candidates. I can't express an opinion on either the NDAA or the drone strikes since you did not source where you got your info, nor do I have any prior knowledge of said events. What I can say however is that the reckless killing of civilians whether they be American, Iranian, or any other nationality, they should never be put in harms way when dealing with any sort of threat. If we launch these attacks with disregard for the safety and well-being of the civilians in the area, then we are spawning more hate then we are eliminating with the deaths of both the civilians and the terrorists alike. I agree with you Brad. There really doesn't seem like their is much of a choice when it comes to voting for a candidate. The only two potential presidents in the election were Romney and Obama, other choices did not seem viable seeing as the mass majority of Americans really only knew in deph the campaigns of Romney and Obama.
ReplyDeleteOur best shot at the perfect president would have to be Tom Angleberger. I believe the morals that Tom instills in his books are exactly what America needs to become familiar with to become an even stronger nation then what has ever been seen. His ability to insprie the hearts and minds of all those fortunate enough to hear his words is unrivaled. Along with the ability to manipulate the four elements(earth, fire, water, and air) It only seems natural that this "demigod" of a man lead not only lead the nation of America, but the entirety of the human race. It is said in legends past down by the Mayan people that there would be a man who writes Star wars children origami books would have the ability to unite the human race at a time of war, and spread peace throughout our universe. I wish not the blood stained cogs of war to tarnish our land yet again, but I have full faith that if that time were to come, Tom Angleberger would be the one hero foretold in the legends of the Mayan people.
